For my birthday last month, we took a trip to El Dorado. Something we haven't done in a really, really long time! My sisters birthday is just a couple weeks after mine so we thought it would be fun to all get together and celebrate. We don't get to see them as much since they live in Nashville. PLUS this particular weekend was also the food and wine festival in El Do.
Mom sent me an email a month prior to this about some workshops that Festivals and Events were putting together during the festival. Once we saw those, we knew we had to go!
The first picture is from the food and wine workshop. We chose the "Food and Wine Parings." I was really intereted in this one because they flew in one of the chefs from Frenchie in Paris and London to do the cooking! You might remember, we ate at Frenchie while in London in 2016. It was delicious then and it was so delicious this time! It was awesome, he prepared the food right there in front of us while two other guys went over the wines. Really neat. Glad we did it!
But OOPS, I kind of jumped ahead there. That was Saturday afternoon. I totally jumped over Friday. We got to town late afternoon on Friday and checked out mom and dad's new house. Clark came over with tons of crawfish and food and cooked us dinner. Lauren and Josh were a little late getting in but we celebrated with gifts when they arrived! It was fun eating, drinking and being merry on the new porch. Fun fact- this house has more than 100 hydrangea bushes. They are so pretty!
We got up Saturday morning and went to the Mayhaw Festival. It wore Kate out! She met so many new friends. By the time we got to lunch, she was passed out in Uncle Josh's lap. So sweet!
And then she's up! And ready to party again.
Already has opinions on food.
How cute is this baby? She's so cute!
After the food and wine tasting workshop, we grilled out with Mamaw, Papaw, Aunt Lou Ann and Uncle David. It was nice to see everyone and again, enjoy the outdoors before it gets too hot! It was a short but great trip. Already looking forward to the next one!
