Last June I had to go to Nashville for work and Brian tagged along to do some things on his own. He wanted to try some good food and check out some bookstores. He was also able to join me for a few work things. See above-- the Opry! I don't know if he was looking forward to it or not but I think he actually ended up enjoying it!
First stop-- Memphis for BBQ!
Second stop, dinner out! We found this pasta place in Nashville, got great reviews so we booked it. Turns out I booked the right day of the week but the wrong actual week. So we had to wait and fiannnllyyy got ta table. We were able to enjoy cocktails prior, so it wasn't all bad.
It has a super cool vibe, check out their website --> iggys. We ended up sitting at the bar and the food was good but so darn rich.
We had meetings during the days and then did some outings in the afternoons. This one was to Lynchburg to visit the Jack Daniels distillery. We did the entire tour and it was very interesting. It ended with a tasting and solidification of what I already knew.. I do not like whiskey.
We finished the night on whiskey hill... or something like that. Had dinner and it poured.
The next outing was my fav! A night at the Grand Ole Opry, complete with a tour of behind the scenes. Check out mailbox 163-- that's Dolly Partons! They say she does check her mail.
On the stage and below is the set list for the night. I was excited cause I'm a big Eli Young Band fan!
Riders in the Sky were really good! Surprisingly great. It was a lot of fun! And I'm glad Brian could tag along and enjoy some too :) XOXO
