Lady Liberty. NYC Day Three.

10 March 2026

Up early again! This family doesn't sleep in. Not even on vacation guys. Up early, in bed early is how we roll. But this morning we were up for a really good reason. Breakfast at one of Brian and my favorite spots. A new staple we have to hit every single time. So trip number three to Balthazar.

These silly kids are constantly stealing our phones and taking pictures and videos. I was actually at work the other day and got a phone call from Brian. Called him back and he's like no, I didn't call. Goes and asks the girls and they have somehow called me from Alexa and left a voicemail.

I love how much they love each other.

I know I've said it once and will say it again, I'll always take this photo of these cuties holding hands.

Made it to Balthazar and the girls thought this little booth was so cool. It's just so quintessential NYC and perfect. Plus they had the girls favs on the menu!

hot chocolate in the summer...

big ole glass of milky!

Pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs... yum!

Finished eating and headed to the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty! When Brian and I went on our first trip, we took one of those small little boats over to see the statue of liberty. We never got off the boat, it was so cold and we didn't want to stand in lines. So this time we went for the free, public boat.

We took the free Staten Island Ferry. We hopped on in lower Manhattan (South Ferry) and it took about 30ish minutes each way. There were tons of people and it made me semi-nervous but it was quick and easy. We had no trouble finding plenty of spots to hang out and take pics. We went to the very top and hit the outside deck.

You just cruise past the Statue of Liberty and hop off on Staten Island and re-board to go back. Which was kind of weird but easy enough. So we got to see it twice :) The views of the city were really great!

Back in Manhattan, we went hunting for restrooms. Which let's address this... Emmy has to pee all the time and we did great finding public restrooms that were generally very good. We ran into one in Central Park that was disgusting but other than that, had great luck. We grabbed cool treats from a street vendor after and mapped out our next stop.

Emmy fell asleep on the subway on the way to a late lunch so we figured we should go back to our room and rest before the night. We grabbed lunch at a Mexican place near our hotel and Emmy still talks about how this was her favorite place. I have no idea why! It was nothing special. Kids. We did some shopping at the souvenir shop by our hotel then went in an took naps!

Up and back dressed for a fun night out at dinner. Brian and I have been wanting to try Frenchette on almost every trip we've taken. So we're finally doing it!

We have subway pros on our hands here!

lemonade for Emmy...

shirley temple for kate. Love their sweet little dresses.

Again, we got pommes frites and again they were amazing!!! I'm pretty sure this is the lamb because we know Kate loves lamb. We also got this gnocchi dish that was interesting and good and I believe the girls split the hamburger.

Then we got really adventurous and tried to take the girls to the jazz club! They had a early show and they said they were down for it.

We came up from the metro stop to a million people. We tried to make it through the crowd and then realized the cops had the street and sidewalk blocked off. There was some kind of celebration so we decided to forgo and head back for rest. I think the girls were disappointed. They still bring this up from time to time. They don't forget anything which is a blessing and a curse. But I'm so glad they remember all the fun things we did on this trip. Those memories are precious :)

Night, night XOXO
