We made a quick trip to Petit Jean during spring break and it's safe to say that everyone loved it! We planned on hitting up Devil's Den but they were all booked up by the time we decided. Last spring break, we did a night at Village Creek in a cabin and the girls loved it! Then in the summer we stayed at the lodge at Mount Magazine and it was another hit! So we're trying to make some stops at State Parks since the girls are so into it.
I grew up going to Petit Jean with my family for fun and for church camp at Camp Mitchell so it's always been a fun and special place for me! We decided to leave a little early and grab lunch in Morrilton at the Point Remove before headed up to the mountain. Someone (me) didn't do her homework and Point Remove wasn't open this particular day. So we went to another place and it was just a great. Got to eat outside on this beautiful day.
Then we went up the mountain and started at the lookout.

Worked our way down to Mathers Lodge and did the waterfall trail. It was great until it wasn't.. for me and for me only.
See that water bottle in Brian's hand. It's all we took. And the kids finished it off before I could get a sip. Pointing back to me struggling at the end.
Ready for dinner at the lodge. These two got ready quick and I had to hold back and get myself dressed and Emmy... and her doll.
She is very serious about her dolls. VERY. Rebecca went everywhere with us and ate like a normal person...
After dinner, we drove down to Camp Mitchell and took a look around. The girls thought it was soo cool and are now asking to go to summer camp there.

And then we did something I've never done. Went to see the sunset at CCC overlook. It was so beautiful!
We had a great time spending time together. The girls went to bed when we got back to the cabin and Brian and I sat on the screened in porch on the wooden swing, split a bottle of wine and just talked. It was lovely. XOXO
