Alex Lately : Bathroom

I think the best way to appreciate this bathroom is to look back and see what it looked like way back when. Before I took matters into my own hands. Because I hated this bathroom but it's part of the 10-15 year plan. Or if you ask Brian, I don't even think it's on his list. So I had to make it happier. And I did it all myself, knowing we'll redo it at some point.

This is the listing photo from two owners ago, like 2 years before we bought the house. Yes, that's carpet! And a huge mirror and a dark color and it's just not good.

Fast forward to when we purchased, thank you.. no more carpet but this faux vinyl tile looking floor is too dark and ugly for me. Why is the ceiling this terrible gold color? I don't get it! I do like the wall color but I think we can do better. So here we go!

First... peel and stick flooring. I wouldn't normally choose tan. It's not my favorite but the flooring in the water closet is real and it's the same color scheme so I had to. Worked in a more modern print and some white, so I'm good with it. I under estimated how much it would take so I had to pause until more "tiles" came in.

Next up, wallpaper! I love the texture of this! It looks so lovely on the walls and I would for sure order this again. The price was good and the quality was great!

Told myself I wasn't going to paint.. and then I did. Hindsight, wish I picked the sea salt on the left. I like the darker blue but it doesn't really fit. The lighter would have worked better but I refuse to repaint. Especially a lighter over a darker.

I actually really loved the light fixture from the old bathroom. But it gets so hot in here. I keep a little rechargeable fan out but it always blows my hair when I'm trying to do my hair and it just didn't work. Enter.. a fandelier!! My absolute favorite thing!
