Cocktail Recipe: Espresso Martini

OK, we are officially espresso martini people now. And likely need one if we are leaving the house after 6pm. Brian tried a cocoa finish on this one, heavy on the cocoa but pretty and very delish! And likely perfect for today if you are planning to make it to midnight! 


Ice, for shaking
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce brewed espresso, at room temperature, or 1½ ounces cold brew concentrate (see Tip)
½  ounce coffee-flavored liqueur, such as Kahlúa, plus more to taste
½ ounce simple syrup
Whole coffee beans (optional), for garnish


PREPARATION
Fill a cocktail shaker ⅔ full with ice. Add the vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur and simple syrup. Place the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain the cocktail into a martini glass (we use coupe glasses) and garnish with a few coffee beans, if desired.
