I took so many pictures during Easter weekend! These girls had so much fun and looked so precious that I caught myself snapping constantly. So prepare yourself for a long post filled with tons of pictures!!
We went to El Dorado for the weekend this year and had so much fun dying Easter eggs, which was cute and exhausting!!!
Emily was a little rough with the eggs, no surprise there. She would throw them in the cup, splashing the dye and nearly breaking the eggs. But she loved it! And Kate loved making pink and purple eggs!
All of the egg dying was before the 10AM egg hunt with First Methodist. They hosted at the Harper Farm outside of town. It was so pretty, lots of animals and the girls had a blast. Emily wasn't super sure about egg hunting until she started filling her basket, then she turned into the master!!!
They got so many eggs! It took us forever to open them all and sort through the goods. The best part of the morning might have been the donuts after the hunt. Emily has quickly become a lover of alllll baked egg things she couldn't have prior.
After the egg hunt, we took the girls out back to get a picture in front of the flowers. Getting both to look AND smile was a workout. And I was ready for a long nap before 11AM!!!
Precious girls!!
After naptime, the girls baked cookies with icing and AGAIN, Emmy is loving all baked eggs. I can't image the world of sweets being withheld from me!! Sweet little girl :)
Finally got the kiddos to bed and put out their Easter baskets. Of course, Kate started coming down the stairs right after I put her down, I took of running and was able to not spoil the surprise and get her back to bed.
Kate was so surprised and excited to go through her basket. Emmy was very typical Emmy.. throwing stuff out and moving on to the next thing.
We made it to church by 9am for the St. Mary's egg hunt. It was kind of neat being there for the hunt I did so many times as a kid and now my kiddos are participating. Again, Emmy was kind of over it while we were waiting but got super into hunting when it was time. I think Easter is one of their favorite things now!
We tried to grab some family photos before church but the kids (cough Emily) didn't really participate. I love the one below-- it is totally Emily!!!
The nursery still hasn't opened back so we attempted to take both kids to church. Kate lasted a little while but couldn't figure out why her sister wasn't there. Emily never made it through the door, as soon as we tried she took off running. So my dad took her to play. About 10 minutes into the service I heard her yell "Moommmmy!" and I was able to grab her right as she took off down the center aisle. The doors were open to the church so we were able to sit on the front lawn for about half of the service and listen. Finally we gave up and went home.
It was a great weekend and it was so nice to be getting back to "normal." Whatever that means in this post/during-COVID world. I've got to say, it was nice. Hope you all had a Happy Easter! XOXO
